Amber Haddad is een Belgisch/Libanese zangeres uit Gent (BE). Samen met haar band, het Amber Haddad Quintet, vond Amber haar eigen unieke sound ergens tussen Arabische muziek, Flamenco, jazz en pop.

Altijd op zoek naar nieuwe klanken dook Amber in de traditionele Libanese muziek en verloor haar hart aan het nummer ‘Ana la habibi’ van de geweldige zangeres Fairuz. Ze brengt relatief onbekende muziek naar het Nederlandse &Belgische publiek in combinatie met meer toegankelijke westerse jazz muziek. Haar drang is om haar emoties de vrije loop te laten op plekken waar het publiek een reis kan beleven door gevoelens, verhalen en kleuren in de wereld van Amber en haar Belgische en Libanese roots. Essentieel voor Amber haar sound zijn de invloeden van Libanese zangers als Fairuz, MikeMassy en Dafher Youssef in combinatie met westerse artiesten als Simin Tanderen Avishai Cohen… Het resultaat is muziek waarin rust, warme kleuren en eerlijke expressie de luisteraar meevoeren door een emotioneel landschap.

DE BAND

Het Amber Haddad Quintet heeft zijn eigen manier gevonden om oriëntaalse muziek en mediterraanse muziek te combineren met behulp van hun eigen interpretatie en kennis. Ze creëren nummers van onder andere Fayruz en andere Arabische zangers en componisten naar hun eigen hand, interpretatie en arrangementen. Samen met hun eigen composities, die het karakter en eigenheid van de band duidelijk weergeven, ontstaat er een mooie balans tussen comfort en uitdaging.

Intimiteit is het woord dat zij willen behouden, zowel verbonden zijn door hun passie voormuziek als verbonden zijn met het publiek.

Amber Haddad, a Belgium/Lebanese singer from Ghent (BE). Together with her band, the Amber Haddad Quintet, Amber found her own unique sound somewhere between Arabic music, Flamenco, jazz and pop.

Always looking for new sounds, Amber dived into traditional Lebanese music, and lost her heart to the song ‘Ana la habibi’ by the great vocalist Fairuz. Bringing relatively unknown music to Dutch & Belgian audiences in combination with more approachable Western jazz music. Her urge is to let her emotions run wild in places where the audience can experience a journey throughout feelings, stories and colors in the world of Amber and her Belgian and Lebanese roots.

Vital for Amber her sound are the influences of Lebanese singers such as Fairuz, Mike Massy and Dhafer Youssef in combination with Western artists like Simin Tander and Avishai Cohen. The result is music where peacefulness, warm colors and honest expression take the listener through an emotional landscape.

THE BAND

The Amber Haddad Quintet found their own way of interpreting oriental music combined with mediterranean music. They create songs from Fairuz and other Arabic composers into their own impression and arrangements. Together with their own compositions, which represent the characteristics and uniqueness of the band, they create a beautiful balance between comfort and challenge.

Intimacy is the word they want to maintain, being close and connected through their passion for music as well as being connected with the audience.

ALBUM “TRUST

Their debut album “Trust” reflects the inner peace felt when one has faith in the experiences that life brings about. Each of the original songs is a small journey through an emotion or an experience that Amber herself has gone through, is going through or would like to let go of. This gives each composition its unique color, emotion and story highlighted by the Quintet’s mixed cultural and musical backgrounds. With Lebanese, Belgian, Moroccan, Jazz, Classical and Flamenco influences, the music shows the character and individuality of the band and is surely to bring fresh sounds to the audience.
