LÍTORE QUARTET IN CONCERT

Lítore Quartet werd in 2019 in Spanje opgericht, toen de leden aan het studeren waren voor hun bachelordiploma aan het Conservatorium Balearic Islands. Het ensemble richt zich op de studie en verspreiding van het saxofoonkwartetrepertoire. Hun hoofddoel is het ondersteunen de werken van huidige componisten, en om het repertoire voor de saxofoonkwartet.

Gedurende de hele carrière van Lítore heeft het kwartet verschillende prijzen ontvangen, zoals de 1e prijs in Kamermuziekwedstrijd “Ciudad de Ávila” of 1e prijs internationale kamermuziek Competitie van Arnuero, waardoor ze op belangrijke podia en festivals in hun land kunnen spelen
land.

Bovendien vallen de opnames van twee werken die de afgelopen maanden zijn verschenen op:
Fragmenten Striés van Hèctor Parra en Der blutige Schaffner van Robin Hoffmann.
Daarnaast creëerde Lítore Quartet in 2021 Beyond Music, een project gericht op podium
techniek en fysiotherapie van muziek met fysiotherapeut en regisseur Carles
Exposito van Fisio Taddeo.
Momenteel studeren de leden van het kwartet hun masteropleiding in verschillende steden
Europa: Zürich, Helsinki en Maastricht.

Extensive biography of Lítore Quartet

Lítore Quartet focuses on the study and dissemination of the saxophone quartet repertoire. Its main aim is to support the works of current composers, as well as to continue expanding the repertoire for the ensemble.
The quartet is composed of Jaime Estévez (soprano saxophone), Sira Pellicer (alto saxophone), Hugo Lomba (tenor saxophone) and Miquel Flores (baritone saxophone).

Lítore Quartet was founded in 2019 at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears under the tutelage of Beatriz Tirado.

In the first years of activity, the quartet also worked with the saxophonist Xabier Casal, member of the saxophone quartet Fukio Saxophone Quartet.

This ensemble has also worked with important personalities such as Juan Durán, Aaron Siebert, Daniel Gauthier, Carl Emmanuel Fisbach, David Brutti, Patrick Stadler, Ángel Luis Quintana, Joonatan Rautiola and Debra Richtmeyer.

In addition, in 2021 Lítore Quartet created Beyond Music, a project focused on stage technique and physiotherapy of music with the physiotherapist and stage director Carles Expósito of Fisio Taddeo.

Lítore Quartet has been awarded Art Jove 2020 Prize (Palma, 2020), third prize in the King’s Peak
International Music Competition (USA, 2021), first prize in the Concurso de Música de Cámara
Ciudad de Ávila (Ávila, 2021), first prize in the XXIV Pòdiums de Música de Cambra (Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, 2021), second prize and the prize for the best performance of music by a Spanish composer at the Certamen Internacional para Jóvenes Intérpretes Pedro Bote (Villafranca de los Barros, 2021), first prize at the CSMIB Chamber Music Competition (Palma, 2022), Rookie Chamber Music Award (Madrid, 2022), first prize at the Certamen per a joves intèrprets Art Jove 2022 (Inca, 2022) and first prize at the Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara de Arnuero (Arnuero, 2022).

The quartet has also collaborated with institutions such as Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró (Palma, 2020)
and Fundación Botín (Santander, 2023).

During its career Lítore Quartet has participated in numerous festivals such as the III Festival Internacional de Música de Cambra de Mallorca (Mallorca, 2020), Cicle de Música a la Cambra Can Balaguer (Palma, 2020), Palma Clàssica (Palma, 2021), Cicle Concerts de Tardor (Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, 2021), Cicle Concerts de Primavera del Teatre Sans (Palma, 2022), Cicle de Professors del CSMIB (Palma, 2022), Festival Hostes (Gandía, 2022), Peregrinos Musicales (Galicia, 2022),
Ciclo de Música Actual de Badajoz (Extremadura, 2022) o Creando Futuros: Centro Botín (Santander, 2023).
